About

CuteJSON is a set of JSON tools that run entirely in your browser: format, validate, minify, repair, explore, compare and query. It is built and maintained by Akash Kinkar Pandey.

Who is behind this

One person runs this site, Akash Kinkar Pandey, from Kolkata, India. There is no company behind it and no team. The JSON engine is written from scratch for this site rather than wrapped around a package, which is what lets it promise things a wrapper around JSON.parse cannot, and the contact page reaches an inbox that is read.

Why this exists

Two problems kept coming up. Most online formatters parse your document into a JavaScript value and print it back, which quietly rounds integers longer than about sixteen digits and reorders keys that look like numbers, so what you copy is not what you pasted. And most error messages say unexpected token with no line, no column and no idea what to fix. Every tool here is built around those two problems, and around not asking you to upload anything to solve them.

How we keep it trustworthy

Results come from a parser written for this site and tested against RFC 8259, and each tool page states exactly what it implements. Where a standard is only partly supported, such as the JSONPath subset, the page says which part instead of claiming the whole of it. The promise that nothing is uploaded is checked by an automated test on every build rather than asserted in a paragraph. If something here is wrong, the contact page is the fastest way to say so.
