JSON Pointer is a small specification, four pages long, and this implements all of it: the empty pointer for the whole document, the escapes ~0 and ~1 for keys containing a tilde or a slash, the strict array index rules that reject a leading zero, and the URI fragment form that starts with a hash. The part worth having is what happens when a pointer does not resolve. Instead of a bare not found, you are told how far it got, what was there instead, and which keys the object actually has, because a pointer that fails is almost always off by one key.

    Come usare

    1. Paste your JSON into the editor, or load the sample.
    2. Type a pointer, or press one of the examples. An empty pointer means the whole document.
    3. Read the value on the right. If it does not resolve, the message says how far the pointer got before it stopped.
